Transportation

Transportation is one of the most important issues in the daily lives of older adults trying to maintain vitality and independence in the communities where they live.

Several options are available in the Metro Atlanta area. Transportation options vary from public transit, including that with capabilities for those with disabilities, to services that provide medical transportation to and from hospital and doctors' offices and Private Home Care services that offer light errand transportation.

Some local places of worship and senior centers offer free transportation services, and some charge a small fee. Contact your local Senior Center to see if transportation options are available. If you live in an Assisted Living Community, transportation may be included with your fees or may be available for an additional fee.

Other transportation options are listed in your Senior Resources Directory.

NOTE:
If you would like to see a selection of TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS included on this page, please send us an email and include what part of Atlanta, or what city, you are near. We'll see what we can do.
